Company: Environalgae Technologies Private Limited

Location: Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Established: 2022 (as a proprietorship firm); 2025 (incorporated as a private limited company).

Mission

To become a leading Science & Technology organization providing impactful full-scale solutions to manufacturing units and municipalities for sustainably treating their wastewater and providing circular products back to the farming community. 

Objectives

o Reduce carbon emissions from wastewater treatment using green microalgae

o Make recycling of treated wastewater effective and affordable 

o Transition conventional wastewater treatment from being cost-centres to becoming profit-centres

o Contribute towards Regenerative Agriculture & Sustainable Aquaculture/ Animal Husbandry by upcycling nutrients from wastewater into circular & sustainable inputs for these sectors

Target customers - 1

o Industry – As they get their wastewater treated & recycled, their carbon emissions from their wastewater reduced, and they generate profitability from the sale of microalgae-based Biostimulants and feed supplements

Target customers -2

o Municipalities – Our process not only reduces carbon emissions but also releases copious quantities of oxygen as its primarily based on photosynthetic green microalgae. The release of oxygen is at times 5-6 times of that what an equivalent acreage of forests would release. Having their wastewater treated and recycled, rather than being discharged into the rivers or groundwater, is another benefit for the cities.

Target Beneficiaries

o Famers - Regenerative agriculture is the need of the environment, given the current climate challenge. Bio-stimulants are now being promoted even by the United Nations as an opportunity to support regenerative agricultural practices while improving crop quality and yields. The microalgae-based Bio-stimulant generated as a co-product from our wastewater treatment process is now proven to help improve crop yields by 15-18%, as demonstrated in the certification studies carried out by our customer at three distinct accredited universities.

What do we do here?

  • Conduct algal assays on customer wastewater samples for testing the suitability of microalgae for treating it
  • Conduct process development work for eventual scale-up to pilot and commercial levels
  • Create a bank of algal cultures for treating variety of effluent streams
